Grow it yourself challengeDec 16, 2021postGediflora's mission is to provide growers with a very consistent, high quality, innovative, 100% 'easy to grow' plant assortment, thanks to its R&D. As a trusted partner, we (and the entire Gediflora team) put it to the test by organizing a 'Grow It Yourself' challenge.

In May, cuttings of 3 varieties were distributed to our entire team. People in the office, employees in cultivation and breeding, as well as employees in the greenhouses were asked to grow the cuttings into valuable and colorful Mum Flowers plants. With great enthusiasm, our team set to work with their green fingers.

4 months later, the time had come. The plants were fully grown and ready to be judged. The plants were judged based on 3 categories: size, shape and sturdiness. The jury consisted of none other than Christine Devolder, mother of current manager Elien Pieters, who was also at the helm of the flourishing company Gediflora for 30 years together with her husband Dirk.

In the first round, the Possidi White was judged. Christine did a thorough inspection of the homegrown plants, handed out the points and chose the 3 winners of this round. In first place was our truck driver Geert. Second place went to Vincent, our sales manager and third place went to Ward, our cultivation manager.

A few weeks later it was time to judge the senga mauve. Again, our truck driver Geert delivered the best specimen. Followed by Davy, operations manager and Emma, our brand new financial clerk.

After the third round, it was obvious. Our truck driver Geert is the rightful winner of this first edition of the grow it yourself challenge. His efforts were rewarded with a balloon ride in our colorful Mum-Flowers balloon.
